Happy Cupid's Day!
Feb. 14th, 2008 09:01 amApparently I was visited by the chocolate fairy last night at work who left a couple of little hearts on my desk, that's really not a bad way to start the day. Spent last night getting a myriad of little annoying but important tasks done as tonight and tomorrow evening are booked solid. Watered my plants and discovered just how many had been overturned, knocked down and stomped on by the incredibly careless construction workers. My alpine strawberries appear to have bitten the dust and my bamboo is no more, I'm hoping those will be the only casualties but I doubt it. Also found food and cigarette wrappers among my herbs. Nice.
But I'm not letting myself dwell on it.
Tried out some veil stuff last night and attempted to replicate a move I'd seen on a double veil video on Youtube. I discovered that while it seems to work all right with silk and a dancer content to get inside the two and do nothing more challenging than that, it doesn't work so well in every other scenario. Ah well, it was a nice try anyway.
And I have to admit I enjoyed it. I still don't like most of the characters but Ianto is seriously growing on me. The scene where Jack asks him out and Ianto turns into a babbling mess was adorable. Also James Marsters just makes everything good. His evil Adam Ant look was working way better for me than it should've.
I kind of liked that the ep played out like a slash fic onscreen, indeed it's the first time I've seen a show that really looked like it had been written by slashers. Well, ok there probably would've been actual sex if it actually had been, but the banter between Jack and John was straight out of fic.
May try to catch the remainder of this season unless they throw an even worse episode than number 2 at me.

Date: 2008-02-14 07:17 pm (UTC)While I was watching the first bar scene between Jack and John I kept thinking that what must've been going through Barrowman's head on a loop at that point must've been "I get to kiss James Marsters. I get to kiss James Marsters. God I love my job!"
