Just heard from my friend J-, his flight out of our mutual hometown is canceled today so he won't be arriving tonight after all. In fact he won't be arriving until Sunday afternoon, and that's after taking a tour of most of the continental US to get here. Poor guy.

God I'm glad I moved out here, the joy that is not having to worry about the weather in February makes up for the little annoyances like outrageous rent and cost of living. It really, really does.

My inlaws in Alabama just don't get it. The thought of being exposed to tornadoes everyday for several months sends chills down my spine.

The weather here has been abysmal all day, there's a quarter-inch of ice coating everything and now it's gone over to just plain rain. I hope the rest of J's travel goes smoother.
