I have to admit that so far the free version of LJ is not bugging me nearly as much as I thought it would. And I'm finding life with fewer icons to be a pretty painless transition so yay, and again, yay.

Lots of shit went down last night, almost all of which I'd predicted weeks and weeks ago. The Matt slipping towards the dark side subplot was rather feeble. It just felt rushed and not terribly well planned out. I mean I like him as this sort of working class Professor X, usually the mental types are all effete and upper crusty so it was cool that the show threw one out there who would feel right at home on your average bowling team instead. It's just a shame his story is continuing to get such short shrift.

Major annoyance with the fact that we still have not had a revelation about just what powers Hiro's dad and Nathan/Peter's mom possess. Two prime opportunities for said reveal were just shrugged off last night in favor of, one suspects, some big later reveal. If we don't find out before this show gets canceled, though, I'm going to be seriously pissed.

Didn't hate flying boy nearly as much, which I suspect had a lot to do with the fact that Noah makes everything and everyone around him just that much cooler. It's his super power, I'm pretty sure. And a major yay for him mostly out maneuvering Bob and his daughter Elle (and again, if anybody didn't have her pegged as his daughter weeks ago...well, that's just sad). Had the strong impulse to kick both Claire and Mohinder very, very hard at different times during the episode but as I suspect the latter is the one who's secretly brought Noah back to life I suppose I can't hate him. Though...honestly, couldn't we have had at least a couple of episodes in which to mourn the guy before he's all better again? It might not have felt like quite such a cheat if we had.

The Hiro and his dad story was ok, I liked Hiro getting the chance to grow up a little but his decision to let dad die just seemed kind of lame. The plot demanded it, sure, but dammit if you've got time travel powers and you can stop a senseless murder then you should bloody well do so. Also I hated the cut before the reveal on Kensei/Adam (again, anybody who didn't have that pegged weeks ago...yadda, yadda).

And can I just ask one question here? Is there not a glaringly obvious way to deal with Mr. Immortal? Would it not be pretty fucking simple for Hiro to just take him far enough in the future that there's nobody and nothing left on Earth for him to hurt/destroy? Or at least far enough into the future that nobody living today will have to worry about him? Though I'm still wondering if you sealed him in a concrete box and dropped him into the middle of the ocean whether or not he'd cause you any trouble after that. Probably not for a good long while anyway.

On the plus side there were no Wonder Twins or Sylar in this episode so that's a big win as far as I'm concerned. Given my theories about who's done what and the scenes for next week's episode I concocted a fitting end for Sylar. He's in Mohinder's place making empty threats then out pops Noah (who's been recovering there), gun in hand who simply says, "Hi, Sylar. Bye, Sylar." *Bang* The end. It's my new happy place.

I can finally comment now that I've caught up:
I was thinking that Mohinder didn't have time out of Bob and Elle's sight in order to fix Noah up. I was suspecting The Haitian did the deed instead.

But yes, I'm tired of shows "killing" people and then bringing them back in the same episode. Lame.

I don't understand your hatred of Sylar, but The Flying West still aggravates the crap outta me. Though Elle is right up there with him for most annoying character right now. Might be that I just don't think that chick could act her way out of a paper bag.

Anyway, definitely an improvement in writing (loved the line "Did you pack Mr. Muggles doggy bath?" spoken so urgently and earnestly by Noah), but since they have to clean up all the crappy so-called twists set up earlier in the season, it was not a good episode.
