Just when I start to think maybe I was blowing the whole LJ censorship thing out of proportion I read this and get pissed off all over again. No, my paid account definitely ends in November and does not get renewed and that's that.

And it looks like I'll need the money as my dental bills are probably going to come in around the $2,000 level over the next few months. I apparently need several "deep cleanings" as well as a bridge to finally take care of the tooth I had extracted last year. On the plus side my dental hygienist says I've got kickass cleaning skillz, but sadly they can't make up for piss poor genetics. At least it's good to know I did everything I could to avoid this mess, a small comfort but I'll take it.

In more pleasant news, the latest issues of the Paranormals, "Hunter's Moon I", is now available for your reading pleasure. This one's chock full of wolfie goodness and starts to fill in many of the blanks in Rose's past. Please go give it a read and let me know what you think!

And thanks again to everybody who responded to yesterday's post with advice and encouragement, I really needed it and I can't tell you how much better I felt after reading your comments.

Yuck, I don't like LJ getting into the business of being arbiters of decency. That's opening up a can of worms that they'll regret.

On the dentistry, check what your insurance cap is. I know at least at one point I had a cap of $1000 per calendar year, and had to pay out of pocket past that. However, the way it works, if you can do one appointment now, and another in January, you're golden. If, um, you have insurance in this crazy world.

What DOES bother me is the total lack of an appeals process or warnings.

I have insurance but the hygienist wants to do this antibiotic treatment with the cleaning and that, of course, isn't covered by insurance. It's not considered necessary even though it's highly, highly recommended by the actual people whose job it is to know how to care for your teeth.

*sigh*

But at least I won't have to go back for the follow ups for 3-4 months which will take me into the next year so I won't be totally financially raped on that.

Well, that is tricky to define, so I'm not even going to bother. But linking off-site is such an obvious solution that I'm amazed it basically never comes up in discussions about this issue.
