Had a nicely productive weekend, got to meet [livejournal.com profile] laughingkat, eat my beloved veggie dim sum, finish up the majority of [livejournal.com profile] moonlightnrain's birthday gifts, do lots of laundry, tidy up the apartment, do some much needed shopping (including a new purse at long last) and catch the latest Dr. Who with [livejournal.com profile] elo_sf. Oh man was that episode good, allow me to say once more how very much I adore John Simm. I really need to look up his earlier work and watch everything he's ever been in, he's just that good. Also RTD really can write when he puts his mind to it, between the shout outs to the fans and the slash that's pretty much main text at this point, I am one happy, happy woman. Dying to see how they wrap up this whole plot line in the next episode.

Thanks to the stupidity of Comcast I missed the final ever episode of SG-1, but caught parts of it on YouTube and realized it was probably for the best really. I'll catch it when it plays again but I'm really not in any rush. Although that reminds me I'd really like to know if Dresden Files is coming back next season. No word yet and the fans are getting antsy, many are losing hope. I would find it hard to believe that they'd bring back Eureka and not DF, but we shall see I guess.

Nearly wrote you an email last night telling you it was best you missed it. I liked it, personally, and I thought the part you would have trouble with was written well and believably, and the acting was phenomenal, but... yeah, I would have warned you off it. :)

I think season 10 is about on par with Dr. Who S3, but with no light at the end of the tunnel.

I haven't kept up with Atlantis. Is that worth watching at all?

I actually saw that bit and I kind of liked it if for no other reason than that Daniel finally lost it. He's needed to do that for several seasons now. However the fact that he did an immediate 180 and was all, "Oh, you're serious, well that changes everything." If they'd let that change slowly over time (and gods they did have the time in that ep) I would've been much happier.

IMHO Atlantis really isn't worth it, though I know several folks who would very much disagree with that. There's this video up on YouTube, a "commercial" wherein SG-1 and Atlantis dudes banter back and forth like in the PC/Mac ads. SG-1 finally basically says, "So what exactly is new and different about your show?" to which Atlantis guy can only answer, "Uh, well, we've got these cool new jackets."

I agree, I do. If that scene could have just ended with him being rocked by her show of emotion and him holding her a bit and then saying "I've... I've got to go," that would have been perfect. Then in the montage, they could have shown their relationship developing... it would have been nice. The tag on the end made me laugh, though with her saying "certainly not *Mitchell*." Heh. Poor Mitchell. Though, actually, Mitchell and Sam works for me... which is weird because I still say she's gay. Hmmm.
