So today's the big day, we go live and public with our beta site and hope the entire thing doesn't collapse under us. I'm not saying it will, but I do acknowledge that it's a possibility. Right now, though, our big hope is to start building traffic, and we need to build it pretty darn quickly. If you check out the site and like what you see please post a link or two to your journal and encourage some others to visit as well. We're basically doing this all at grassroots level so anything anyone can do to help spread the word would be greatly appreciated.

Come see the beta site!

Read my comic, The Paranormals!

Play my game, Arcanom!

Feedback on what you like/don't like, technical problems you encountered, etc., is highly encouraged. I really recommend you check it out on IE or Safari as Mozilla seems to have some plug-in issues that make it a little unstable...ok, a lot unstable.

hmmmm.
I've been waiting ten minutes for the confirmation email. Should I be concerned?

Yes you probably should, did you check your spam filter? Sometimes they get snagged in there.

There. Took about 25 minutes, but it showed. (:

Saw you on there and tried to invite you to Arcanom but you never responded :(

The little recurrent "blip!" noise needs to be terminated. I'm reading The Paranormals in a popup window; distractions like this while I'm busily engaged on the site are not welcome, and will end up with me leaving and not returning.

Is there a way to tell "what the visitor's doing" so you can either turn off the noise until they return to the main window, or just make it not repeat?

Sorry the noise is a head's up that you're being invited to something (generally a game), and if you go in as a guest it can be very annoying. We should definitely offer a way to mute that.

But annoyances aside did you like the comic?

The early Buffy-ness was pretty overwhelming - "Young cute blonde with a dark secret! Single parent! New school! British teacher!" - but I'm getting over it. /B-)

At this point I'm interested in what comes next, and it has potential. I haven't seen enough to say I like it. Get me to the end of the first story arc and ask me again.

Oh - and for a different sort of annoyance, I just clicked on the single-play button for Arcanom and received a "bonus.match.model.IllegalPlayerException" error in my pop-up. Safari, MacOS 10.4.8, latest Flash plug-in (AFAIK), PPC platform.

Are you having fun today? /B-,

I'll spare you the gory details of the debug code - let me know if and to where you want them emailed.

I'm afraid that even with site or potential game problems, the only thing that matters in my head is that The Paranormals is out and availble for everyone! Woohoo! Good luck with the rest, too. ^_^

If you've got the code by all means send it, but this has been popping up a lot today (even triggered it on IE) so I expect the engineers are going to be most unhappy come tomorrow. If you clear the cache and shut the browser then go in again that clears itself up (at least temporarily) and you should be able to play the game.

Now I must teach you to play Arcanom, as I'd really really like feedback on the game ;)

I'll, er, get right on that. o.O I've got to go run some errands this afternoon and have class from 6-9 tonight, but maybe I'll try poking at the rules after, or something. Or maybe we could mess with it a bit Friday night, assuming there's not a baby happening?

So *that's* what the blip means. I never saw a visual to go along with the audio, so I thought maybe it was an ad or something...

If you look up at the top of the screen you'll see the visual in the Alert Area. And you'll note your namesake in the game as well ;)
