I...wow...you just have to read this from the wingnuts over at World Net Daily to believe it:

Not only will it work, but one can easily estimate how long it would take. If it took the Germans less than four years to rid themselves of 6 million Jews, many of whom spoke German and were fully integrated into German society, it couldn't possibly take more than eight years to deport 12 million illegal aliens, many of whom don't speak English and are not integrated into American society.

Crooks and Liars posted to this article regarding how America should respond to the "brown menace". So did they invoke Godwin's Law upon themselves in this instance, or will we be told in a day or two that the author was "just kidding" (see Coulter, Ann)? And "rid themselves"? Wow...

Get rid of... uhm... does he actually recall just how the Germans DID 'get rid of' those pesky Jews?! Mass graves, 'going up the chimney', men, women and children separated from each other, basic rights thrown right out the window... Just get rid of them in 8 years. And that comment about the Minutemen? Was that a suggestion that we shoot these aliens on sight, or am I just reading more into this than there is?

A fence is not necessary, for there are other means of efficiently resolving the problem without resorting to such an obviously dangerous measure. Instant deportation policies, employer fines and bounty programs combined with the denial of all social services to non-citizens would suffice to settle the matter without the need to imprison the American citizenry. As the Minutemen have proven, again, unleashing the power of motivated private citizens is far more efficient than relying on government bureaucrats.
