My apartment is clean, CLEAN! Glory hallelujah, for the first time in two weeks I'm actually caught up on chores. It helps to actually have the strength and lack of pain to make the whole thing a lot more pleasant. Well that and being able to eat mostly normally again, yay!

You know I really thought I'd have more trouble on this whole uber-restricted diet thing but so far it really hasn't been that bad. I suppose a big part of it is mitigated by the fact that I've been a strict vegetarian for the majority of my life. A restricted diet, for me, is the norm. I do miss pizza, but not overwhelmingly, I mean I know I'd like to eat it again someday but I don't want it OMG RIGHT NOW, so I figure that's a pretty good sign that overall I can cope.

I suspect tonight I'll actually do a bit of cooking to prepare lunches for the rest of the week and then a whole lot of slacking. Might even get some writing time in.

Yea!!! Now you can come clean mine! =)

Did doc restrict your diet or did you?

Oh the doc said what foods I should avoid, and I've discovered that tomatoes and I really don't get along right now.

Ya know... I remember having the same difficulties before I was diagnosed. I thought I had food allergies and was trying to figure out what it was, but nothing ever made sense. Turned out the problem was fat and sodium effects on the liver.

I think tomatoes is a good non-scientific pseudo-indicator of GERD or ulcers. Tomatoes are high in acids. At least you know it isn't H. Pylori and can focus on dietary triggers. It can be a lengthy, irritating process, tho. :(

Actually I think it might have been exacerbated by taking too many NSAIDS as well lately. I hadn't realized just how damaging those things can be. But I won't know for sure about any of this until I see the GI.

It's not the One True Pizza, but can you eat pizza with non-tomato sauces? Like pesto or alfredo sauce?

I miss pizza, too, although for different reasons. :)

In theory I could, but right now I can't really eat anything that isn't, well, quite dull. I tried a little Masala last night and regretted it.

Yay for lack of pain.
What is the new restricted diet?

Basically eating nothing interesting at all, nothing spicy, nothing terribly acidic, just bland, bland, bland. But if it keeps my stomach from tearing itself apart I'm all for it.

Wow. Suck.
Yeah, it beats being blind or having your leg blown off (I've been doing a lot of WWI reading recently...) but I'm really into food. You probably couldn't tell by looking at me.

Eh, no biggie for me, I don't tend to get orgasmic over food in general so it's not like a terrible loss or anything. Just takes a little more thought at the grocery store, that's all.
