Sorry to disappear entirely yesterday, it was a busy, busy day and when I got home and turned on the laptop it started having "issues" so I just gave up. Of course I didn't manage to get out of work until around 7 last night so passing out was a higher priority than posting. Wait, actually eating was the highest priority, I was starved!

My sis just sent me a link to Wizard People, Dear Reader, which the site describes as:
[A]n unauthorized re-envisioning of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, by Brad Neely. To experience it, viewers need to get a copy of the first Harry Potter movie (known as Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone in Europe) and watch it with the sound off, replacing Neely's narration with the original soundtrack.

There's a download on the site or you can order a pre-made CD. If I can get my laptop working this baby's mine. Won't have time to watch tonight, as there is new BSG (hooray!) and the SG-1 ep actually looks kind of cool (Bugs!), but maybe I can give it a try either Saturday night (after cat sitting) or Sunday afternoon. I must say I'm intrigued.

Picked up a few new icons and got rid of some of the older ones. I also think I worked out the font problem with comments, if you're still having issues lemme know and I'll see if I can tweak it some more.

Oh that's adorable, I'm totally loving yours as well. And just finished downloading Wizard People, will try to get to it tomorrow or Sunday.

There are bunches of other icons for the taking here just page back a few and you'll hit 7 entries all Rocky Horror, not to mention Bringing Up Baby and many more.

I will expect a full report once you've had a chance to digest the hilarity. I think if you que up the movie to right as the Warner Brothers symbol starts to materialize and then start the soundtrack...you'll know you have it right if he announces "Privet Drive" right as the street sign appears.

Holy god, I'm halfway through and the troll scene nearly killed me.

"Harmony steps up to the bat and lays it on the dotted line: 'I was in here, crying like an idiot, and these badass new gods came in and saved me. If it wasn't for them I'd be in that troll's stomach for sure.'"

Though I lose every time Wood is referred to as "Major Wood" and referred to as "an adonis in wizard's clothing". And the "blood eyed cat and the cat's manservant, Dazzler". Jesus. The nicknames and metaphors are a true thing of beauty.

Heh, yeah sooo much to love...we adored the crazy rambling metaphors so much and the Professor "Snake" stuff had us rolling too. Hardcastle McCormick indeed! Glad that you are digging it so far, hopefully we'll see the other flicks "Dear Reader-ed" in the near future as well.

Greetings from NC. [livejournal.com profile] smileattherain might have her settings set differently (your colors look different too), but if not then I can actually read my comment! It's still a light gray, but it's a nice large font, and readable. Woo! You might be spoiling me by giving me everything I've dreamed about in one weekend. ;)
