Back in 1995-96, ESPN Sportscenter with Dan Patrick and Keith Olbermann was, in my opinion, not just the best sports show on TV, but the best news/informational program on TV and arguably one of the best shows on TV, period. (My .sig at the time was a great quote from one Avelino (AJ) Santa Ana, Jr.: "Everything I do in life is to kill time until the next SportsCenter.")

And every night I wondered "What if they could do ALL the news, not just the day in sports?"

Well, Countdown is pretty close. And the best thing is that Keith still has that quality which lesser people might interpret as liberal bias, but which is actually the farthest thing from it: that steady, unwavering aura of "Look, you know and I know that this is bullshit."

Which is why I am watching a nightly news program for the first time since my senior year of high school. =)
