Every time I hear one of the bullshit Bush or Cheney speeches recently about how "irresponsible" it is for the public or members of congress to dare criticize their Iraq policy it makes me see red. WTF? That's how the government in this country is supposed to work. Thank God we still live in a country where criticism of the government is still allowed. And thank God we live in a country where it's congress' _duty_ to take a careful look at what the executive branch is doing and place some checks on it.
It was Congress' tendency to rubber stamp everything Bush did after 9/11 that landed us in this pickle in the first place. Thank God that some of them are starting to wake up.
Irresponsible, my ass. I think Bush and Cheney could use a basic civics refresher course.
