After that Hitchhiker's Guide trailer on Sunday I'd allowed myself to start to hope that maybe the studios hadn't completely neutered the original story and what was the centerpiece of the works, Adams' incredible (and incredibly funny) use of language. I was hoping the Brit humor would, somehow, remain but after reading this long, spoilerific review I think it's a safe bet that I'm going to get my heart broken by a studio once again. *sad sigh*

Much like watching Animal Cops, I have to wonder why you read spoilerific reviews like that. Bad Ellie, no tofutti.

I prefer to lower my expectations going into it so as to not have my hopes and dreams crushed after paying full price opening night on a film.

And do you honestly think that now that you've lowered your expectations you won't still go opening night and pay full price and be disappointed, despite lowering your expectations?

There should be a smirk or a wink added to this comment. I hit send too soon. :)

Well as I won't be going opening night now, rather waiting for a matinee, I think it unlikely.

Oh, say it ain't so! I've been *so* looking forward to this one. :(

Ah, well, if it's lousy, we still have Alan Rickman's lovely voice to look forward to...

Amen to that, his "This is doing absolutely nothing for me" line in the trailer was enough to make me squeak :)
