Since nobody got yesterday's quote I thought I'd hand you today's on a platter, can't ask for better than that.

I discovered last night that taking off a few nights per week is a good thing. It allows me to reassert a certain amount of order on my living conditions that makes me profoundly happy. It also allowed me to put together and use my latest toy, a Toro weedwhacker. It was oddly cathartic to get all those spots that have been evading me and my trusty push mower. I fussed over the front yard, then decided it was way too damn hot to bother with the back and that I was *really* hungry. So made up some scrambled eggs, then got to work on repotting some plants in the back. I'm thinking that unless stuff needs to go into the ground (i.e. trees, possibly the berry bushes, etc.) they're staying in pots. Who knows what the future will bring and how long we'll be at our current address, and I'd like to be able to just load my plants into a vehicle if I need to.

I was stunned to note last night that not only is my blackberry bush flowering, but the strawberries that have been living over at [livejournal.com profile] tersa's place are blooming again too! I didn't think this was even possible. So in the hope of having at least one more strawberry from my current plants, I put down a layer of herbs beneath the plant to keep any such fruit from touching soil and immediately rotting. It should also help keep out any and all weeds. I now also have a big pot full of jasmine and mint and am obsessing about obtaining more lemon thyme, jasmine and lavendar. I'm also on the lookout for honeysuckle, if anyone happens to know where some could be obtained I'd be very grateful.

I came indoors around 8 feeling all accomplished and Zen-like. Gardening does that to me, and I swear if I had a hammock out back I'd probably just sleep out there as well. Let me putter around a yard for an hour or two and all life's problems suddenly disappear. *happy sigh*

At any rate, once indoors I managed to do something I've been meaning to do for a while, upload pictures!

Pics from Sue's farewell dinner

Pics of our gorgeous kitty!

Pics of Aelf and Es in bellydance gear!

Enjoy!!

Yay pictures!
And you know I'll always take a gimme. (: The quote is from the stirring crucifixion scene in _Life of Brian_, where Dante has to pull an extra shift at the convenience store and is thus prevented from playing a crucial game of street hockey. ...or is he?

Hmm, you know, now that I think about it, that phrase "pot gardening" really can be misinterpreted pretty easily, can't it? And the rest of my post regarding being all Zen and calm afterwards certainly would lead one to that conclusion. }:)
BTW, the peppers are doing nicely!

Actually those are all Esmerel's and Aelfsciene's costumes. I was merely the happy photographer, don't they look absolutely stunning?

Too bad I've never seen Clerks, only reason I 'got it' was yours and Cyrrie's comments. :)

I really like the other two costumes of Aelf's! The red is way too bright, but the other ones are perfect. Yum.

I dunno', I really like the red, it's very vibrant and looks stunning especially in motion. Then again I used to color my hair about that color so I have a sort spot for it *G*
But isn't the beaded turquoise to *die* for? And the gray one is beautiful too. I love the idea of a gray dance costume, it's so rare! I'd love to see a couple of veils to go along with it too.
Want...beaded...bra and belt set...

Heh. Believe it or not (looking back at what I wrote) I really did know that wasn't you. I guess I meant the collective you because I'm sure you have some fabulous costume, too. ;)

Heh, well I have *a* fabulous costume which will hopefully appear in photos as soon as I can convince the two gals to get them uploaded }:)

Oops! I will try to get mine uploaded this weekend. The machine that took a crapper? that was the one I normally have pictures on. :) I will do my best this weekend though.

So what color costumes should we convince Aelf she needs to buy at the next belly dance festival? }:)

Pictures, I wasn't expecting that. I'm not too good at keeping my eyes open. And I look incredibly stiff in poses. I'm glad I didn't actually see any of these before the performance, because the last two side-on pictures make me allllll uncertain about performing again anytime soon. Gotta use the bodysuit next time, and find one with a fleshtone panel.

I'm really really fond of the red, both for my hair and the costume, but now I'm worried it's too bright.

Y'know, yesterday afternoon, I said, "I'm not even supposed to be here," when the network went all wonky and everyone else was at Mandatory Corporate Fun. ^_^

I may spend some quality time with my laptop between the eye appointment and leaving for the movie tonight, getting stuff uploaded. Plus laundry and making my bed, yay for multitasking.

I should not buy much more at the next belly dance event. Turquoise overskirt (short one, because of the huuuuge ruffles on the black), maybe a straight/panel black skirt for under the beaded belt (and, I dunno, harem pants or tights under that?). And I like the idea of grey veils, in a shimmery silvery sort of fabric!

Though I may fall prey to my tiedye idea, we'll have to see what I find.

Nonsense, you look gorgeous in the costumes and the closed eyes merely shows off your beautiful make-up }:) But if you'd feel more comfortable in a body suit then by all means get one, they're not so very expensive and the main thing is for you to feel good about yourself while you dance.

Since nobody got yesterday's quote

And here I thought everybody got it, even though none of them actually came out and said it. That's the last time I restrain myself. I want a gold star of my very own.

You've got to give a complete and correct answer to earn a gold star, dear, today tersa gets one for answering completely while cyranocyrano gets a half star for being silly. }:)

So, when are you having a housewarming? Adoring minds want to inquire. Or inquiring minds want to adore. One of those...

I promise you the picture doesn't do her justice, she is quite simply one of the most attractive cats I've ever seen. Her face and particularly her eyes are amazing!

Heh, well that's a good question, the housemate and I have been toying with a couple of dates at present but want to try to make sure that we don't end up scheduling the same day as some other major event. Hopefully we'll have an announcement within the next few weeks.
