Retail therapy
Jun. 25th, 2002 08:43 amYou know, despite the fact that yesterday was an entirely wretched day it ended on an up note, thanks in great part to the healing effects of spending gift certificates. No guilt involved with these purchases, no second thoughts, no hesitation, just spend, spend, spend! And I'm ever so pleased with what I got. First and foremost, a papasan chair of my very own. I've wanted one for about a decade and just never had anywhere to put it. Now I do, now I have more than enough space. Allow me a moment to do the space happy dance...
Ok, I'm done now. I also procured the best bath rug in the entire universe. It's light blue and fluffy and utterly decadent. As decadence is the theme for the bathroom I'm quite pleased. I also got a little toothbrush stand with glass, but I need to get a nice soapdish to go with it. I want to wait until I can see the color scheme again. I think I remember it, but my memory is unreliable at best.
I am regretting not picking up some of those ninja throwing stars to decorate the living room with, though. Ah well, I'm sure I'll be back up in Chinatown at some point in the not too distant future.
Still waiting to hear about the house. Still waiting for my yearly performance review. In short, waiting. I hate waiting. *grumble*
But class tonight, where I shall work my tail off and hope that I remember at least a little of the routine Shira started teaching us last week.

Papasan chairs are very comfy. And the blue bath rug and the toothbrush stand sound lovely. Nesting is so much fun!

Oh, did I hear correctly that you're taking Una's class? If so I'm going to really kick myself for not signing up }:(

(I'm not taking Una's class. Maybe once all the girls move on to new hobbies and I get a fabulously paying job.)

Anyway, as you can see, I am on the waiting list and need to go back next week to find out if I'm in the class or not.
I would love to take a class with you at some point, but I am sure that you are much more advanced than me. I did try to get into Shira's class but it was full when I tried to register for it.
Megs has mentioned the possibility of semi-private lessons from Una or renting studio space from We3 when they start offering it. Maybe you might be interested in going in with us on one of those things?

Date: 2002-06-25 12:41 pm (UTC)I have a question: Are you taking or have you in the past taken lessons from Yolanda at the Palo Alto YMCA? If so, would you recommend her and do you have any idea if they are in the middle of a session currently or not?
