So sleepy

Got awakened an hour early this morning by Kage hacking up a hairball beside the bed. Joy. I went ahead and cleaned it up, fed the cats, and crawled back under the covers but the damage was done. I expect to stagger around today like an extra in Dawn of the Dead (the original version).

I pretty much did nothing last night and it felt wonderful. Well, ok, I did a load of laundry, swept and mopped the kitchen and living room, did the dishes, scrubbed the sink, packed up a box of videotapes and straightened up a little. But for me that's next to nothing. Tonight I try to make it to the grocery store for a few odds and ends and mowing the front lawn, at which point I will feel accomplished until I start some serious cleaning this weekend.

I was a bit naughty this weekend and bought a small peppermint and lavender plant. Now the mint I'm not worried about, I have tremendous luck with mints. The lavender, however, worries me. I've killed off more lavender plants than I care to think about. If it's still alive in a week's time I may let myself think the lavender black thumb curse is broken.

I've gone back to eating couscous for lunch, a serving is well under 200 calories (well, closer to 200 when I add Quorn to it) which ain't bad for a nice filling hot lunch. It's also dirt cheap, way cheaper than the frozen meals I was eating. I'll see if this helps me to cut back enough to actually start seeing some weight loss, that would be so *nice*. If I can just lose 5 pounds and then work out a bit more often so as to tone what I've got, muscle-wise, I will be happy.
