Sarah Brightman's "Harem" DVD rocks, so much so that I actually missed part of last night's "Mad Mad House" to watch a few songs. Speaking of the show, can anyone tell me just what the hell the "guests" did to cause Fiona to think that invoking the darker aspects of the Goddess (I specifically heard Kali and Lillith) was necessary? I tuned in at that point and I was like, "Woah". And jeez can we please kick Tim off (if he did get booted somehow last night don't tell me, I've got the last few minutes waiting for me on tape tonight).

Finished up the DS9 "Left Hand of Destiny" Klingon-o-rama series yesterday and it actually had me in tears. Normally I hate Klingons, but DS9 made me adore Martok and Sirella and even kinda dig Worf and Alexsander (which I never had before). And since the series was about all of them (plus a great Ferengi character the authors created) and co-written by the guy who played Martok, I had to read them. Really damn good. It just breaks my heart that the best series in the Trek universe only lasted 7 seasons, but at least we've got some incredibly good books to read taking place afterwards. I'm starting the Mission Gamma series now, and when I flipped through the book this morning to get an idea of who all was showing up I immediately opened to a page with Quark and the Jem'Hadar character introduced in the books were having a discussion about Odo's divinity (or lack thereof). Hee, can't wait to plunge into these books.

Oh and did I mention the novel series also includes an female Orion character? I used to dress as an Orion slave girl back in the day and now they've got one in the books. *happy sigh*

Found out last night that the girl who comes to Thursday night classes who I have a mild crush on is happily dating a guy (who will be at Inca Gardens tonight for the show). Part of me said, "Right, so stop flirting with her already!", while another part (who sounds a lot like Jadzia Dax really) laughed, "Dude, are you crazed? She's totally safe, have some fun!" I think the latter voice has got the right idea. She showed up wearing Aelf's red costume and my jaw just about dropped. While the drummers were playing I coaxed her into dancing an impromptu drum solo bit with me that culminated in us bumping hips and giggling like mad.

The performance tonight sounds surprisingly laid back given that most of us have never been to this place before. I'm a little concerned about the veil piece, but then I always am. Alyne very wisely decided last night to drop "Choukraine" as pretty much nobody knows it well enough to dance it (yay!) but "Tammerhenna" stays in. As long as I'm not forced to be on point for it, no problem. Should be interesting.

B- also brought along dvds of our performance at the senior center. I look every bit as flabby as I'd feared, but the costume didn't misbehave quite as much as I thought it did. However there were a few moments in the performance where R-, who was videotaping, went in for some very unfortunate close ups. Mine mostly consist of zooms into my abdomen. I kept wincing while I was watching and moaning, "Oh god no!" I don't think anyone gets a copy of this one *shudder*

Still, Cute Girl From Class (CCFC from now on) commented on her YMCA membership being very helpful when it comes to working out, and a lot of options the one in Cupertino apparently has. Tempting, but I'm set on my rowing machine concept. It's becoming apparent, though, that I need to stop talking about getting one and just bite the bullet and do it. Right, off to Craigslist...

yeah, that.

First off, I'm feeling serious DS9 withdrawal at this point. Started reading The Search, but I don't think I like the author's style much. But I'm only in the second chapter, so will give it awhile longer.

On MMH (sorry for spoiling the end, I didn't realize last night that you hadn't seen it!): Erik was Fiona's roommate for the night and started going on and on about how awful Nicole was, everyone hated her, etc. Of course, we'd seen earlier that he thought she was his biggest competitor and he wanted her gone, so knew it was bullshit, but Fiona seemed to fall for it. When going on the nature hike the next morning, Avocado heard Erik, Nole and the two other chicks (Asian hottie and the exotic dancer) going on about how they didn't like Nicole, she was fake, etc. He wasn't falling for it.

Cut to the Alts meeting, where Fiona's losing her shit because people are being untruthful (what're the odds, they're assholes after the money), and saying they need to "wound" the normals, as it will only make them stronger. How legit was that invocation she made at the end?

I can't believe I'm discussing a reality show, even one as amusing as this. I feel unclean. O.o

About as legit as the first one, enough to make my eyebrows rise, that's for sure.
