You know I try to take the PBS NewsHour seriously even though they actually (regularly) employ David BoBo Brooks as a commentator. But today they had on their usual two for and two against talking heads to discuss the proposed Muslim cultural center two blocks from ground zero which, of course, has the wingnuts getting all red-faced and shaking their tiny fists in impotent rage. Now the two for included a spokesman for Muslim Americans and the husband of a 9/11 victim, both were calm, rational and pointed out quite clearly that just because something makes you emotional doesn't mean we can just set aside the Constitution. Now the against included the daughter of a 9/11 victim whose entire argument came down to, "This upsets me so it shouldn't happen", and she even admitted her argument was entirely emotional and not at all rational which was refreshing.

After they announced her I silently began chanting, "Don't go with a douche, c'mon, keep it classy just this once. You can do it, PBS, I know you can."

And then they announced Michael fucking Medved.

*sigh*
