Jul. 12th, 2009 01:19 pmYou know yesterday was going really well when it started. But after a belated birthday brunch with
moonlightnrain I decided to come home and clean because stuff was stacking up again. Living out of boxes is a surprisingly messy way to live as I'm constantly digging around looking for the stuff I need.
So I started cleaning up the litter box area while the cats were outside. I got to the everything torn apart and vacuuming up the excess litter when my vacuum cleaner died spectacularly. I think the motor was in the process of burning out, there was smoke and an awful smell, before I shut it off. I paused just long enough to whimper for a minute or two before remembering I'd received a gift card for OSH for my birthday. I drove over and managed to get a neat little vacuum *and* dust buster. Got home and finished the cleaning, which made me feel so much better. The new cleaner is smaller and lighter but actually has some suction. I'd forgotten what that was like. Now I'm going to see if anybody on Freecycle wants my old one before I chuck it.
In other news Kage continues to do incredibly well. She's spent most of her time in the living room today for the first time since the surgery. She's also been walking around more and her appetite is back to normal. Pye, on the other hand has been the world's biggest brat. I couldn't work it out until I had to get the new vacuum yesterday and had to plug it in behind the boxes. That's when I noticed the Feliway was empty. If I weren't feeling quite so lazy today I'd go buy more kitty Prozac, as it is I think it'll wait until tomorrow. That is if he survives that long. At the rate he's currently going this is not a certainty.
