Jul. 1st, 2008 11:15 amI'm in a weird mood today, hearing about Don Davis' death makes me very gloomy indeed. I adored the man both on XFiles and SG-1, and it's unutterably sad that General Hammond will never appear on the latter again. The man comes right after Sisko as second favorite all-time leader.
On the other hand, I stayed up way late last night reading "When the Rose and the Fire Are One by Perverse Idyll", despite the fact that I'm not a Snarry fan. The story hooked me right from the start and I just couldn't stop until I'd finished it. It also made me wish to go back and rework "Scale of Dragon, Tooth of Wolf" because her take on incarceration at Spinner's End kicked my story's ass up one side and down the other. I find myself of two hearts on the whole thing, part of me is delighted to read such a gorgeous, well written piece of fic and the other is devastated that I'll never have that kind of talent.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a decent writer and I can tell a fairly good story when I've got a mind to, it's just that I'm well aware that I'll never be more than what I am, decent.
On a lighter note, I just got contacted about yet another job...when it rains it truly pours.
