Jun. 20th, 2008 01:50 pmHad a pretty good day yesterday, got lots done at the new job and felt fairly productive despite running on like 3 hours of sleep from the night before. Ah I do love those 1:00 a.m. panic attacks and then the long, inevitable hours of staring at the clock that follow. What fun.
Currently I await a call from the boss to tell me when/if a meeting's scheduled for today so I can run over and join in. Otherwise I'm attempting to remain as sweat free as possible. It's currently 94 in MV...ye gods.
In other news I was contacted by no less than three companies yesterday, two asking for phone interviews and the third was the one I interviewed at weeks ago saying they're almost ready for a second round and I'm at the top of their call back list. I did one of the phone interviews this morning which went ok, but I got the distinct impression that I'm not what they're looking for. Better to know it ahead of time I guess. The other changed the nature of the job listing to an internship for significantly less money so I had to pass. Ah the joy of start ups.
Finally got my "Yeah we kinda screwed up on a few things like the war and economy, but hey have some money!" check from the government which is going to go towards paying off my credit card bill. And I got another Amazon gift certificate so Order of the Phoenix and Fido are now mine, yay!
Gaming with the new group is also going to be a lot of fun. There's nothing like playing a period-based RPG with a bunch of history geeks. Our characters are definitely going to be a delight to get to know and I can't wait to see how they interact when the alien shit is hitting the fan. Our two adventuresses are already hinting at a lesbian liaison in the future (much to my character's delight) and I can't wait to see how the unflappable Scottish soldier deals with the hysterical Canadian engineer.
