(no subject)

Yes I am actually still alive, just a huge fucking slacker. I swear I've done very little this week except running errands, cleaning things, laundry and reading fic. SGA has swallowed me whole, and I blame moonlightnrain and windrose for luring me into the fandom and then throwing excellent fic at me. No, I mean seriously the fic in this fandom is so good it hurts. Been making my way through makesmewannadie's recs, plus rusty_armour's fic and recs, then the stories here and here. I'm even reading AU's. Christ, I feel like a junkie on a bender. It is perhaps a good thing that I'll be heading back to the office on Wednesday.

Got lots of wonderful gifts and donations this year, including the Humane Society, Second Harvest and the Red Cross. I now own the two seasons of LoM (NTSC version), the Broadway soundtrack to Xanadu, some amazing fabric that will be turned into a quilt someday soonish, cool jewelry, homemade granola, oh and the Avatar: Burning Earth game. cyranocyrano and moonlightnrain both played the Avatar game with me and all three of us have said that it isn't nearly as good as the first game. Too much jumping, which is next to impossible to do in two player mode. The game itself is buggy as hell, though I will admit that getting play Toph is really friggin' cool. I like the Combat Arena where you can just fight head to head between two characters, I will like it more when I manage to unlock Zuko because that's mostly what's getting me to finish the game at this point. It's also making me want to go back and re-play the first game, which was *so* much better designed than this one. I'm tempted to write to THQ and just say, "What the hell? Seriously, what the hell?"

And now I've gotta' order something for my dad's birthday, my niece's birthday, and two sisters' birthdays, then figure out what I'm doing for my friend J-'s birthday and then it'll be Aelf's and then I get a break. Fortunately I've got a few more hours to figure something out before heading over to tersa's for NYE.
