ebonlock: (Bollocks!)
For those who are interested, I'm still alive. Barely, but alive. Work is...well "hectic" doesn't even come close and trying to find any time after work to do things like answer emails and catch up on LJ is becoming harder and harder. Also this weekend I just couldn't bring myself to even look at a computer. I just needed a little time away from it all.

But now I'm back and I just have to share something with you. Check out this link at Sadly, No! regarding the funniest blog competition for the 2007 Weblog Awards. Their main competition is a site best known for encouraging its flying monkeys to harass a man dying of pancreatic cancer. Seriously, they even helped delay his surgery and post-operative care through their actions. You can read more about it here.

An excerpt:

Andy left the hospital and spent two weeks recovering at a friend’s house, learning how to eat again, learning how to move, weaning himself from the morphine that he’d needed post surgery. During this time, one of his supporters in Baltimore had her car vandalized – a message was sent. Shortly after he left to return to Seattle, his second East Coast hostess was stalked to her home and watched as someone tried to open her front door. His supporters everywhere were systematically intimidated and all the while, they tried to keep it from Andy.

Andy then went back home to Seattle, looking forward to a medical course of chemotherapy and radiation. Once he arrived, he found that an anonymous tipster had managed to get his Medicaid shut down. It took us two weeks to get him back in the system. Andy had anaplastic pancreatic cancer and was again forced to wait weeks for follow up care.

There's more, much, much more. If you really want to see just how low human beings can and have sunk in the past few years, this story will give you all the insight you need. After you've read it please take a moment and vote for anyone other than DUmmies FUnnies who are, to put it mildly, a whole new category of asshole.

I think one of the commenters at Sadly, No! summed it up nicely:

Man, these guys are gunna be disappointed when they die, and God turns them over to Satan for Repeated Ass-Rape Therapy.

Oh man would I ever love to get all irrational over Kevin McCullough's ass:

Women - vote irrationally. Some women will be offended by the observation but most will agree, women do not vote according to what they know.
[Editor's note: Can someone interpret this for me in a way that doesn't say flat out, "Women are inherently irrational, this is what they know, therefore this is how they vote."?] They tend instead to vote based on intuition. They get "a feeling" about a candidate and that's what they trust.

And all those guys who nattered on about how they'd prefer to have a beer with Bush than Kerry or Gore...well, they were just the height of rationality, weren't they?

I get the feeling that the closer we get to an honest to god Hillary presidency, the more sexism is going to ooze up out of the cracks. The tricky bit will be for me to avoid blowing out a blood vessel or two in my brain after reading this shit.
