cyranocyrano stopped by last night to watch an early Michelle Yeoh low budget HK flick called "Magnificent Warriors". Basically plucky mercenary/aviatrix meets stylish devil-may-care patriot spy boy plus bumbling na'er-do-well gambler with a heart of gold and they fight the Japanese in a little bitty town in Mongolia. I learned that bi-planes are highly effective against jets if you've got the right woman in the pilot's seat and that the Japanese made highly effective use of Ninja squads during their occupation of China. Also if you hit a Ninja with enough rocks he'll go down just like anybody else.
Then I showed him a few eps of Avatar and he was intrigued from the start, asked lots of questions and made a pleased little sound when it was revealed early on what the "villain's" motivation was for his actions. He wants to see more. My work here is done :)
