moonlightnrain is back safe and sound, though getting to and from the airport was a bit of a nightmare. Two accidents, one on 85 and one on 101, ick. Still, her flight came in right on time and she breezed through security so you can't ask for better than that.
Dental update:
So I had the root canal thingie today and about 3/4 of the way through the procedure the endodontist throws his hands up and declares, "The tooth's got to come out, it can't be saved." Then he says something like "the nerve's been turned against the tooth by the infection", and all I can think is I totally am a mutant. My own freakin' nerves are turning on me?
Of course at that point he might have said, "I'm sorry but you've been cursed by molar gnomes, the tooth can't be saved. You'll have to have it extracted...oh and your mouth will also need to be exorcised by a priest and sprinked with this magic pixie dust to keep the other teeth safe from a similar fate."
And I would've responded in much the same way, "Oh...ok."
On the bright side the whole thing today only cost me $5, so that's not so bad for a failed effort I guess. I've got to call the dentist tomorrow to get this whole thing scheduled and I've got a temporary filling in for the time being so I'm eating soft and not too chewy at present. The other bright side I suppose is that it'll mean a bit more room in my mouth at least briefly, until we decide whether to replace it or not. I'll deal with that tomorrow, though, for now I'm tired and my mouth's a bit sore so I'm going to relax and enjoy the rest of the evening.
