Step away from the Ba'al idol
Jan. 31st, 2006 09:29 amBrave warrior in the battle against the Homosexual Agenda speaks out:
“This is about bullying people and saying you will kneel down and bow to the Baal god of homosexuality — or we’ll make your life very miserable.” Bob Knight of Concerned Women for America’s Culture and Family Institute
And what's he reacting to you might ask? This actually:
Last week I blogged about the safe space poster that was causing all the hubbub out in California’s San Leandro Unified School District (SLUSD). The district mandated that teachers display the signs in classrooms to indicate to students that “This is a safe place to be who you are. This sign affirms that support and resources are available for you in this school.”
Holy crap, you mean teachers were asked to put up a poster promoting tolerance and acceptance for a villified minority in this day and age? What is our country coming to? Next thing you know they'll be hanging rainbow flags and making blood offerings to Ba'al right there in the classroom.
Although, my fellow homosexual agenda promoters, do you really think we should go with Ba'al? I mean he wasn't really much of a god to begin with and a total lameass on Stargate SG-1. Couldn't we pick someone more, I dunno', charismatic? I'm thinking Apollo might be fun, then we could use pictures of Jamie Bamber on our altars. Think about it, won't you?
I do love the fact that these folks see their intolerance as a positive thing, and our disgust with it as trying to bully them into marching in the next LGBT parade. It's like they only have one socially acceptable hatred left and they're determined to hang onto it as long as possible. It almost makes me respect the neo-nazi movement, I mean at least they don't go around whining about their rights to irrational racial hatred being stepped on.
On an unrelated note, if you're interested in how the votes went down for Alito, just click here. It's about what I expected, and hey we got a Republican and an Independent on our side, it's a start.
Jane at Firedoglake sums up my own reaction to the events of this weekend pretty darn well. The liberal base got energized, who'd a thunk it? We pulled together, we made calls, sent faxes and emails, and basically did everything we could to tell our representatives that we were paying attention and were very passionate about this vote. The Dems got a wake up call, and we're already focusing on the next big battle, the NSA wiretap investigation, is going to require more of the same. We need to stay on the Dems to finally get their collective acts together and start acting like a true opposition party. It's time for them to earn their damn paychecks.
A great place to get yourself up to speed on the wiretap issue is Glen Greenwald's "Unclaimed Territory". He's a First Amendment rights lawyer who knows what the hell he's talking about, and his blog's posts on the subject are even making major newspapers like the Washington Post.
