I won't be around next week and I expect, aside from the few plans I've made, that this weekend will be pretty quiet too. Then there is Vegas Monday-Friday, during which time I hope not to so much as touch a computer. So I'll try to put up an "I'm back, and alive, and wasn't even arrested" post on the following Monday...that is if I can dig myself out from under a mountain of emails. *shudder*

Because I won't be posting or emailing during that time I won't be reading LJ's either, I'd be really grateful if, when you find something someone's posted next week that I really need to see, you'd post a link to it here in the comments. It'd be nice to have a head's up so I don't miss too much, you know? Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to do so.

I'm sorry, but this is just sloppy:

What do this newspaper editorial, this one, this one, and this one all have in common?

All of them are unsigned editorials, which makes it look like they're original opinion pieces for each paper. (The Colorado Gazette even says it's "our view.")

And they all happen to say exactly the same thing, beginning with this paragraph:

One of the smartest things President Bush did to reduce recovery costs in the aftermath of hurricanes Katrina and Rita was to suspend Davis-Bacon Act rules in the hardest hit states. But Congress is frantically trying to overrule the president, which would add billions of dollars to the already staggering recovery costs.

Wow, the Ministry of Misinformation is really off its game lately. Fitzgerald's investigation getting you down a bit, Rovie?

The only debate on Intelligent Design that is worthy of its subject:

Moderator: We're here today to debate the hot new topic, evolution versus Intelligent Des---

(Scientist pulls out baseball bat.)

Moderator: Hey, what are you doing?

(Scientist breaks Intelligent Design advocate's kneecap.)

If you click only one link this year, let it be this one:

A fan made music video tribute to LOST done to Weird Al's polka version of "Bohemian Rhapsody".

I am quite literally sitting here in tears from laughter.
