ebonlock: (Starbuck- Bitch stole my ride)
Had a quiet but very productive weekend, and I now have one craft project officially done for Xmas, go me! Three more and I'm done, done, done. At least all of them are, at minimum, started so that's something, and with any luck I'll be able to get a little more finished tonight after dinner with [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano.

Went in to donate blood on Saturday and for the first time in my life I was turned away for low iron. I have a suspicion why my iron's been low lately and I'm taking steps to fix it so hopefully I can try again in a week or two and actually be able to donate. I was also told about a new process they've got for collecting twice as much usable blood but sadly I don't qualify as I apparently weigh too little. First time that's ever happened. Ah well.

I spent Friday night gnashing my teeth over having to wait until January to see the resolution to the BSG cliffhanger. Oh the bastards! The rotten, dirty bastards! How could they do this to me? Gah.

Saturday, after my failed donation attempt, I did some much needed shopping and a bit of housework before getting down to serious crafting. I had most of the project finished by late that evening. I also ended up going through nearly all of the history offerings on On Deman and then discovered that I now get LOGO, the gay and lesbian channel, and it was all over. I did nothing but watch that station Saturday evening and Sunday after the movie. My only regret is that they seem to schedule "The Birdcage" about once a day, every day, otherwise it's very much fun. Even the commercials are more entertaining.

Sunday was "The Corpse Bride", which I almost arrived late for (stupid traffic), but made it in time to meet up with [livejournal.com profile] silkblade and chat a bit. The trailers were mostly dumb G-rated stuff you couldn't pay me to watch...then they played the GoF trailer like I knew they would. Not the old lame one, the new one which really needs to be experienced on the big screen if you truly want to appreciate all the details. Finally saw Voldemort this time (I just couldn't make him out on the little one) and I squeed when Barty Crouch Jr. appeared. It's kind of sad that I got more enjoyment out of that trailer than the movie that followed it, but such was the case. I'm not trashing TCB, just sayin' it's a matinee watch and not a soundtrack I intend to purchase. It was definitely pretty, but the music and story left a lot to be desired. I may watch it again when it comes out on video, but that's about it.

Ran some errands afterwards and then went home and got some serious housework done before plopping down to finish up the one project and get a good start on the next. Then did my nightly 20 minutes of abs and buns work and noticed for the first time that my endurance is actually starting to improve a bit. If I can keep the momentum going I may just make some progress this time. Unfortunately with an overbooked week this may not be pragmatic, but I'm going to try.
