Surfacing briefly to say that things are going very well at work and I should have my project done by tomorrow thanks to some hard work on two of our departments working like a well oiled machine. That is a major relief.

Also I'd meant to be good and exercise and go over my new 401K info pack but then I stumbled upon "A Soft Place to Sleep" by [livejournal.com profile] caligryphy, one of the most amazing Snupin stories I've ever set eyes on. I just couldn't stop reading. It's a WIP, but chapter 5 ends sans cliffhanger and in a satisfying enough way that leaves you wanting more but not feeling like you've been cut off abruptly. I can't recommend this one highly enough, it is precisely how I want to write a Snupin story when I grow up...

A few stops to make tonight then cleaning! Oh my god the cleaning I need to do, I have been such a slacker of late. Hell I still haven't gotten everything unpacked from the LARP a few weeks ago. Pathetic, I know, but it's one of the little things you can get away with while living on your own, you know?

Oh and speaking of [livejournal.com profile] caligryphy's work, another must read is And Never Been Kissed. I'm not usually a SS/AD reader (I mean Albus...naked...*shudder*) but damn is this story too good not to recommend:

Severus was a quill—sharp and blacked with ink, and such a useful tool that one might never stop to consider its beauty. Severus was beautiful—the opposite of warm, fuzzy socks. He was the conversation piece that unnerved the guests. He was the garden overgrown with thorny roses.

*sigh* It would seem I have a new author to worship...

[livejournal.com profile] anniesj needs to stop posting the links to crack-like David Thewliss photos with his gal and new baby or I'm going to get absolutely nothing done today... I may need to go buy some David movies tonight, mmm "Gangster No. 1" is sounding mighty fine right about now. Mighty fine.

Oh, and I'm an aunt of sorts again as of last night, when little Matthew was born to my dear friend and his lovely wife. Nine pounds, one ounce, better her than me :)
