I keep using the word "penchant" this weekend, I blame the Monarch...I need a Monarch icon.

Ahem, anyway, busy but fun weekend full of way too much food and way too little movement, I'll pay for that this week. But not today as I'm all crampy and feel the need to whine and remain as close to fetal as possible while still being able to type. I have my priorities after all.

Friday night was pizza and chatting and coffee, and just a little book buying (very little, barely noticable). [livejournal.com profile] tersa also came up with a delightful plan for the release of "Half Blood Prince" in July. We'll do a costume party that weekend, dress as your favorite HP character and we'll all gather together and read the book aloud. I call Trelawney :)

Saturday was LOTR-a-thon 2005, we started at 10 a.m. and finished about 10:30 p.m. I would've finished the baby quilt I was working on during these 12+ hours but ran out of binding because I didn't follow my instincts and buy two. But honestly, I thought 3 yards would do it and what the hell was I going to do with extra lavender binding? Guess I get to find out now, huh? *sigh*

Anyway I did a lot of sewing and managed to not talk the entire way through all 3 films (though it was a near thing). I know entirely too much about these movies. Though I did notice something in ROTK this time that I hadn't before so that was cool. I also got in a few good zingers that cracked everyone up so I was pleased. And [livejournal.com profile] tersa's impeccable, movie-themed menu for the day was superb. Particularly liked our "rabbit stew" and "apples from heaven" courses :)

Sunday was gaming wherein we mostly held our own against Lo Pan and the Three Storms, only got our asses minorly handed to us, and ended up with some decent treasure to boot. [livejournal.com profile] ravenmb got to test drive my new character Wu Ya, and I got to send my old character, Hav, off with style so I was happy. After gaming my sis called to let me know my mom's in the hospital again, but they know precisely what the problem is and it's a fairly simple procedure to fix, which should be happening today. I'm hoping for an update in a few hours or so. With any luck she'll receive the flowers I sent her before checking out :)

Aside from that not much to report save for a minor splurge on Amazon, which mostly consisted of some music I really need for a mix. It was cheap and I'm obsessive compulsive regarding my mixes so I'm telling myself it was justified. I'm not really believing the justification, but if I keep repeating it I might.
