The Treacletart once again writes something so amazing it must be shared. Basically it's a wonderfully funny and charming piece incorporating every Snupin cliche ever invented I believe and it's absolutely perfect. She also, however, manages to have Dumbledore explain precisely why I believe the two characters make the most sense together of any pairing in the genre:

Dumbledore smiled and answered with a small shrug. “Oh, I don't suppose their
story is an unusual one. Two people, both alone in the world, both living with
secrets that altered their lives, both dark creatures in their own way. It
isn't too difficult to imagine what they found in each other. Understanding, I
suppose. Solace. Acceptance. Their lives intertwined throughout a history that
spanned decades. They already shared so much, the rest seemed inevitable, I think.

“I like to believe that Remus was able to break through Severus's walls, got
him to lower his mask, and helped him understand the beauty that life has to
offer. That there is good in the world. In turn, I also like to think that
Severus offered Remus a link to his past, freedom from fear of rejection when
his condition was discovered, someone who challenged him. Someone who
understood him. I like to think they fell in love.”

Yeah, that's it, and so eloquently put that I just shake my head in awe. *happy sigh*

Stage one of catching Aelf up on all the horror movies she missed as a kid is complete, she's now seen the big 3 werewolf flicks. While we did that I got most of my quilting done (go me!) and [livejournal.com profile] tersa made us a very yummy curry dish that I ate entirely too much of. I told myself I was doing extra dancing this weekend so it was ok to splurge a bit.

Classes were quite good, and the veil workshop made me fall in love with double veil dancing all over again. I think a big part of it was getting to do most of the dancing with [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene and [livejournal.com profile] eilonwey, which I haven't gotten to do in such a long time. It felt rather like the old Samiyah days. I also remembered way more of "Goddess" than I thought I did, which was cool.

Discovered the hard way that I hadn't set my A/V system up quite properly to record from my VCR. I spent most of yesterday afternoon (after chores and errands and class) unhooking everything, figuring out what was what and then trying to re-hook it up properly. When I run everything through the DVR I get no picture from it, when I run it through the VCR, suddenly everything's fine, but I can't get the picture from the VCR to record to the DVR. I'm hoping it's something as simple as a dubbing cable which I'll pick up tonight. If it is I'm going to do a happy dance I think.

Got everything mostly worked out with the system and noticed that On Demand was back (I'm wondering if my previous hookup was what screwed up the whole thing) so I treated myself to some anime. Still haven't found the time to watch "Wire in the Blood" and I'm recording the new one tonight. *sigh*

I also took Aelf's advice and did something a little different with my hair. It's a good deal darker with a bit of a reddish tint to it. So far I'm mostly pleased with it, but ask me again in a week or so.

Oh and I finally got to see the Dr. Impossible episode of Venture Brothers and it nearly killed me. Spoofing the Fantastic Four and Johnny Quest in a single episode, and so brilliantly I was nearly weeping with laughter. And of course Stephen Colbert doing the voice of Dr. Impossible was just too much. I'm torn on my favorite line from the ep, either "Plus, free invisible mom!" or "Tell Johnny I love..." Damn I love that show. I recorded last night's ep as well so I get to enjoy that when I get home this evening. Go Team Venture!
