Secret and strange angel
Jan. 7th, 2005 09:07 amArgh, I'm almost finished re-reading Susan Kay's Phantom for the upteenth time and I'm still listening to the ALW Broadway cast version of PTO obsessively. I lay the blame squarely at the movie's feet, why couldn't it have been at least watchable? I wasn't asking for much, I knew nothing was going to hold up to the stage version for me, but just having some nice new voices to listen to and fun costumes would've been nice. Apparently ALW chose Butler because he had a more "rock and roll voice". WTF? I hate to break it to Webber but PTO stopped being a rock opera a long time back. Remember Steve Hurley? Remember how goofy the electric guitars twanging sounded? Remember when you thought, "Oh god this sucks, I need to rethink this entire thing and stop re-making 'Jesus Christ Superstar'." Remember that, you twat? *sigh*
On the upside I did manage to get to class tonight and I'll be damned if I didn't finally manage to get the hardest step sequence in Raks Suhaila down at long, long last. Of course I still can't dance it with a veil, but, one thing at a time. The photo shoot for Saturday has moved indoors at the studio and I now no longer have to worry about freezing and catching pneumonia or something, so hooray! And Sunday we attempt to sign up to compete at Rakkasah. Part of me is eager to do it, but another part is thinking she won't be too terribly upset if we don't make it in.
Have also come to the conclusion that allowing myself some caffeine this week at work has been disastrous to my sleep cycle. From now on I buy only caffeine free stuff. I'll finish what I have in the house of the other, but no more from now on.
