First and foremost, this is some scary fucking shit. Makes me kinda glad I put all my political type rants under lock and key these days. It also makes me want to find the person who turned this gal in, revoke their LJ rights forever and beat them even more senseless than they already are. Jesus.

Nice dinner last night, mmm, Rama Thai and a big old iced Thai coffee (yeah, I know, way to resist the caffeine temptation but dammit I'd been good all week) plus lovely conversation. Can't beat that with a stick. Zoomed home in time to catch part of the Daily Show, but missed the lunar eclipse as it was all cloudy :(

Then I curled up for this week's installment of Lost on the Creepy Island of Doom... )
Finally got my free phone certificate thingie from AT&T wireless. The only catch is they want you to call to redeem it and I tried twice this morning, the first time I mistyped one wrong digit in the code and had to start all over again. The second I got routed to a real person who made me confirm which number I'd called twice then told me I was at the wrong place and he'd forward me on to the right person. Of course what he did was put me right back to the beginning of the phone menu. At this point I decided to just hang up and see if I couldn't do this somehow online. Gah.

Flint Journal: Lawmaker's Comments On Wiccans Last Straw For Us

Author: Journal Editorial Board Source: The Flint Journal First Edition (MI)

Title: REVERSAL ON STAHL

When you realize you've made a mistake, it is best to admit it and move on. And that's what The Flint Journal's editorial board is doing today with regard to its Oct. 8 endorsement for the state House seat in Lapeer County.

We had reluctantly endorsed incumbent John Stahl, R-Arcadia Twp., over his Democratic challenger, David Okasinski, a teacher from Metamora Township.

Now Stahl has taken another indefensible position, and it became the last straw for us. He told residents of an Oregon Township neighborhood that he wants to help them in their efforts to get rid of a "temple" for practicing the Wiccan religion. He said this without proof that the residents are breaking any laws or otherwise harming the neighborhood by using their home in this way.

It confirms our doubts about Stahl's judgment and means we cannot in good conscience maintain our endorsement of him.
