Many thanks to
divine_debris for my new icon, it requires some text but I'll have to think about that for a bit.
Discovered a movie I must own last night, "Michael Collins" starring Liam Neeson. Now I'm no big Liam fan, he's ok but doesn't do a lot for me in general. The reason I've never watched it before is that it also stars Julia Roberts who is, I'm quite convinced, the anti-Ellie. If I were ever to be in a room with her I believe she'd have the same effect on me as Kryptonite on Superman.
At any rate, what I hadn't realized is that this film also includes Charles Dance (one of my all time favorite B British actors), Alan Rickman (as a fiery Irish hothead), and, be still my heart, a lovely young John Rhys-Myers. I first saw Alan and thought, ok, he cancels out Julia, I can watch this. Then JR-M appeared (as a young Irish hothead, of course) and that put it over the top. Seeing Charles' name in the credits made it a possible purchase-worthy film.
Mmm, Irish accents.
Ahem, anyway, went for my fitting a little later than expected last night and didn't leave with the bulk of the outfit. Oddly enough the right gauntlet didn't fit properly which makes me wonder if my right arm is actually that much bigger than my left. If so I'd better label the damn things. The final bill was a much lower price than my original quote thanks to my own costuming efforts so the whole thing's been delightfully inexpensive. And the dark green is really quite lovely. Of course I'm now positive I'm going to trip on the skirt at some point. *sigh*
And can somebody tell me why this has to be another nexus weekend? I'm missing two Beastie Boys concerts, Lewis Black at the SJ Improv, and of course the Now and Zen Festival with Morrissey and Tears for Fears. Fuck! But just because I have to miss all this, there's no reason anyone else should so if you have the weekend free please go and enjoy one of these amazing events.
