Oh man, I love starting the day with a good laugh, and this RL/SS fic brought me nearly to tears:
Strictus Snipe and a Cure for Writers’ Block

“ “Passion in the Potions Laboratory”,” he read slowly. “How very appropriate. Let’s see what the synopsis says: “When ethereal blonde Selenity Firestarr comes to work as assistant to the brilliant and brooding potions’ developer Strictus Snipe, the sparks fly! But will these two volatile ingredients provoke an explosion of passion or potion? A passionate tale of love against the odds!” ” He paused briefly, as if too overcome to speak immediately. “Well.”

This time the entire class flinched in sympathy. The two culprits looked as if contemplating immediate suicide.

“This is most interesting, isn’t it?” Snape said.

Hermione Granger raised a hand.

“That was a rhetorical question,” Snape snapped without looking at her. “Ten points from Gryffindor for being excessively literal!”

Hermione lowered her hand, looking put out.

Heh.

As you can no doubt tell, I'm feeling a good deal better today. The rule seems to be that the better I feel the more I need to babble. Now as long as I don't crash and burn tomorrow because of class tonight I will be content...and you will have to wade through epic-length posts again. Sorry.

So yesterday I got to star in my own mini version of the classic 50's horror flick, "Them". The ants in this case were, thankfully, quite small, but damn there were lots of them. I was sitting at my desk and killing one or two then working for a bit. When I got totally engrossed in what I was doing I reached for my iced tea to see it covered in the little vermin. Gah!

Got rid of that and grabbed some Lysol and papertowels to kill the remaining punks and remove their little chemical trails. I then grabbed some ant traps and started looking for where they were coming from. Turns out there's a tiny crack on the window on the other side of my little office. Set up like 4 traps there and one on my desk then got back to work. When I checked again all 4 traps on the window were literally crawling with ants and they'd formed a caravan line to the one on my desk as well. Ick.

Fortunately this morning they seem to be focused on the window ledge traps and I'm seeing only the occasional straggler over here. Wiped everything down again and if any of them crosses my invisible line of death they pay the ultimate price for their folly. I am, once more, a cruel and blood thirsty death goddess.

Zoomed home last night after work and did nothing but sew, sew, sew my belt for DDF. It's mostly completely coined and I joined one side with elastic. I need to put the eye hooks on the other after they're properly placed this evening before class. I think after that I'll call it done for the time being. Contacted P- regarding picking up the remainder of my outfit tomorrow and then I'll be ready for dress rehearsals on Thursday. Friday night I get to just relax, do any last minute adjustments, and attempt to remain calm. Yeah, I know, good luck on that.

But this game amused me greatly:
The Wing

You fly the Defiant and shoot asteroids before they can hit the Voyager...which appears to have a drunken monkey at the helm. I will admit I let a few asteroids get through just to be a shit :)
