Mmm, pretty Frodo pic on my LOTR daily calendar, that always makes Mondays much more enjoyable.

Moderately stiff today, mostly 'cause I was a giant slug yesterday, but more on that later. Friday night was gaming wherein our ship's priest/surgeon officially bought himself a one-way ticket to Hell and released a rather nasty demon on the world at large. Said demon then tried to poison all of us, and Hav learned that port should really be sipped, rather than gulped. Ship's captain/Romeo Aidan was taught several valuable lessons in the proper methods of obtaining permission to woo and wed a lady of station. And somehow we all survived 'til the next session. In real life I got several wonderful gifts, including a signed copy of "Kushiel's Dart" from [livejournal.com profile] tersa, a gorgeous LOTR keychain from [livejournal.com profile] windrose, and a flattened "We Can Do It!" penny from [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano. Windfall!

Saturday I rose early to go grab [livejournal.com profile] silkblade for dance class. Alyne worked us hard for about two and a half hours before allowing us to crawl away, utterly exhausted. Afterwards I hit Target and Trader Joe's and stocked up on absolutely everything I might possibly need for the next week, then I was allowed to go home. Got everything tucked away, showered, and collapsed for a mid-afternoon nap. I don't normally do naps, but damn I was tired.

Woke up in plenty of time to dress for dinner at Afghani House with [livejournal.com profile] mallen, his delightful gal M-, [livejournal.com profile] caredhel, and [livejournal.com profile] forkmonkey. Mmmm, kadu... We all had a great time chatting and were the next to the last group to leave the place. [livejournal.com profile] mallen looks fantastic, and M- is just gorgeous!

Went home and played with the kitties for a bit before calling it a night. Got up reasonably late on Sunday and made a quick run to Pet Club for some odds and ends. Found Pye some more furry mice which kept him busy for a bit. Then cleaned the apartment. The nice thing about having such a small place is that housework pretty much takes an hour at most. Hell I'd just be getting warmed up by that point back at the house. Suddenly a tiny apartment doesn't seem quite so bad.

[livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene swung by for a quick visit and played with the kitties for a while as we chatted. She took off for the long drive home and I curled back up on the futon with a couple of good books (finished off two yesterday afternoon, go me!). Flipping through the channels that night I stumbled upon PBS playing the live version of Sarah's "Harem" show and called Aelf to let her know. They'd clearly chopped out a lot and played with the editing a bit, but it was still nice to see it again. Contemplated making a donation for the DVD, then reminded myself that I didn't need more stuff and I had seen the show live already. *sigh* At least I'm getting better at impulse control.
