Don't, don't, don't let's start
Jun. 16th, 2004 08:31 amI love the 80's at 8 when the regular d.j. chooses them. He has pretty damn good taste in music.
I did make it to class last night despite some serious reservations regarding the intelligence of pushing my endurance in 90+ degree weather. I mostly managed to keep up, though I was drenched in sweat by the end and I've got the makings of a superb blister on the big toe of my left foot. Ow.
Still, Alyne asked for a commitment from the intermediates regarding who was in for Desert Dance Festival. I bit the bullet and selected my costume color (deep forest green, unsurprisingly) so that's that. No backing out now. And I'm not allowed to get nervous about this until August, though the thought of being up on a stage in front of hundreds of people is already enough to make me cringe a little.
On the plus side we got to run through Goddess last night and I got to show Alyne my new organza veils. We hung around and talked for a while with S- about them and everyone tried them out. The consensus seemed to be that they are really quite heavy and take a great deal of energy but they don't look like they do. The words "dreamy" and "gentle" kept coming up. I would concur, I look like I'm moving really slowly with them and to some degree I am, but I'm putting way more energy into the movements than S- was when she danced it with me. You have to 'cause if you don't they just drop onto the floor.
I think Alyne's seriously considering trimming her own veils with ribbon to get a similar effect. It made all the time and effort I put into doing my own veils like that seem really worthwhile.
Went home and took a nice cool shower before dropping into bed. Nothing knocks me out like a good hard workout.
