Now it's just a theory, but if I should go missing suddenly in the next few weeks I expect there to be some questions posed to Alyne. The woman, were she an RPG character, would have a Constitution of about 25. Mine hovers somewhere near 12 I think (yeah, real life as in gaming my Constitution and Charisma end up with the low rolls), so when she's in the mood to really push us I generally end up near to collapse by the end. The scary thing was that doing veil work for an hour after class was actually the relaxing part.

We did figure out which pieces we're doing for the show, which is good. Looks to be "Princess of Cairo", "Tic Tic", "Goddess" and "Bamboo". I've done the first two a few times with an audience, but not the last two, should be interesting. Think I want to go with my bedleh which means I've got to practice "Goddess" with at least the belt on just to make sure I can navigate around it all right. Never done veils in bedleh, but I've seen C- and Alyne do it many times so I'm not too worried.

C- was delighted to note last night that she is no longer the tallest person in class. Even barefoot (and her in shoes) I now hold that particular distinction. Dancing mostly with C-, S- and L- was nice and very challenging, particularly with double veils. I know L-'s timing, but the other two are a mystery to me. When the 3 of them launched into "Hinko", which I don't know yet, I sat and watched their spin timing closely. By the last time through they'd synched up perfectly. I think I can match them once I learn it. We practiced the travelling in a circle bit in "Goddess" and the second time through Alyne filmed it and it worked perfectly. Watching the recording was very helpful, and we were all impressed by how good the whole thing looked.

It almost makes up for feeling like I got hit by a truck today. I think the hafla's out for tomorrow, instead I'll try to dredge up enough energy to clean the house, mow the lawn, run all my errands, and then let myself collapse for the rest of the weekend. Yay collapse!

Ok, I admitted yesterday what a big softy I am, but I'm also a sucker for a nice poster. And one that commemorates what's currently going on up in SF (Justly Married) just seems irresistable to me right now. A great image, and a way to remember an important, and without question historic, event.
