"Everything's under control. End log."
Feb. 3rd, 2004 08:41 amAelf was very sweet last night and indulged my Odo-worship, offering to let me watch "Necessary Evil" before heading off to class. I tried to keep my gushing to a minimum, though I rather doubt I succeeded. Top ten episode? You betcha'. Right near the top of the list? Indeed. I also pointed out to her that she should remember that last scene as Kira will forget it in a few seasons causing me to be disappointed and furious with her for the better part of a season.
Made it to class in a bouncy mood, despite running on very little sleep, and got to hear all about the performance on Friday evening. Sounds like it went just beautifully, and the place was apparently packed all night long. Then, as I was the only one who'd been in the intermediate classes for any length of time at that point who showed up, we kind of took things slowly to catch the other two gals up. I worked up a sweat, but didn't really feel like I'd pushed myself much. Still, with another hour to go that wasn't necessarily a bad thing.
Veil class was good, though I loaned L- my lame veils and went with my chiffons just to see if I could do it. The chiffons looked good throughout most of it, but kept clinging to me at just the wrong times, and getting flipped over. It was aggravating as hell, but good practice. I like being flexible enough to pick up either kind of veil and make them (mostly) behave, I don't want to lose that ability. But I will be the fist to say that there are lots of choreographies out there that are made for one kind or the other, and I just have to accept that.
Watched the video of the two of us dancing together, and I can see myself getting L-'s rhythm and timing down. By the last run through we were dead-on, and quite proud of ourselves. I don't think we'll have any trouble being ready for the February 28 performance. And the thought of dancing veils with Alyne, C- and S- just staggers me. They've been dancing together for years, and two of them are teachers, and I'll be dancing with them...as an equal...wow.
Zoomed home and watched the beginning of FOTR (on the Action channel), played with Pye, then took a nice hot shower and went directly to bed. I passed out almost immediately. Mmm, sleep.
