A sky full of rainbows

Finished up the DS9 S1 special features last night. A bit on the disappointing side, but that's ok, you buy the DVDs for the episodes not the features. Seeing Aelf's jaw drop when she heard Rene speaking in his normal voice and just hanging out in the Odo makeup was fantastic. "He's so...different!" I just couldn't stop giggling, having met the man I was well aware of just how very different the character is from the actor. I may watch him as Odo, but to me he's the incredibly polite, mild-manner, and slightly confused fellow who ended up lost on his way to his speaking engagement at a convention. A friend and I were in charge of security and ran off to find him, only to see him standing outside the building staring back at us who were inside, with an utterly befuddled expression on his face. She and I pantomimed instructions to him and then led him around to the amphitheater with just minutes to spare. His gratitude was enormous, his personality warm, and he took the time to speak to each of us in the security detail and personalize autographs for us all at the end of the day.
He's the kind of guy who answers his fanmail personally. Back when the show first started I was working a con and ended up missing out on buying the one Odo shot they had available. I wrote to him and sent a Little Mermaid postcard with a picture of Chef Louis (who he voiced) and told him the story to explain why I hadn't sent him an Odo shot. He not only wrote me a quick note on the back of the postcard (with an autograph and a drawing of the Chef as a "stamp), but sent me a gorgeous still of him as Odo from S1 as well.
And did I mention he sent me Xmas cards for years as well? So, if I seem a bit worshipful, that's why.
Anyway, I'm about 3/4 of the way through "Kushiel's Chosen" and wondering if waiting until "Kushiel's Avatar" is out in paperback is going to be possible. Hmm, wonder if I can track down the hardcover version at the library.
tersa, I blame you for this, and for telling me Hyacinthe may be back in the third novel. *grumble*
Oh, and this is kind of important. The nice lady who gave me Pye apparently has 3 more snowshoe Siamese who are ready for good homes now. Mind you they've been living feral so they'd be a handful, just like Pye was. They'd take a lot of work, and...well, they're Siamese which means they're neurotic, devious, and far too intelligent for their own good (though with a decided lack of common sense). They're also some of the most amazing animals on the planet, and likely to steal your heart before you even know it's happening. Here are the descriptions:
One is a snowshoe like Pye (dark face, white paws), another
is mostly white (orange marks), and another one has a faint tabby
marking, all have blue eyes.
Not sure about the sexes, but I could easily find out, all would be spayed or neutered and have all their shots up to date. They may even be Pye's siblings, it's hard to say. If you'd be interested, or know of anyone who would please contact me.
