Been watching way too many Tick episodes lately.

Ahem, anyway, weekend update time. Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano for his visit Friday evening. I don't think I could've made it through even part of "Codename: Eternity" without you, dude. And remember, beware coordinated shark attacks!

Saturday was mostly low key, I managed to set up an appointment to have my car's front driver's side headlight fixed (finally) as changing a bulb in a Bug is apparently impossible for anyone but trained service personnel. Bah. Anyway it gave me an excuse to ask about the extra computer chip I need to start my car. I managed to lose one while my family was visit which leaves me with just one. I like spares, so I'm getting another.

Did some errand-y type things and then made it home in time to watch some anime, work on my drawing, and chat with [livejournal.com profile] tersa and [livejournal.com profile] philipalden before we left for the game. Finally got to take Aelf to Vegetarian House for some exquisite food (though the service left a bit to be desired). Got to the game nice and early and were delighted with our seats, just a few rows from the glass! Then were weirded out when [livejournal.com profile] merlinofchaos and [livejournal.com profile] esmerel ended up seated right next to us. What are the chances?

Overall it was a good game, though part of the third period and then the last few minutes of the final one were the best. Moss won [livejournal.com profile] tersa over by his gameplay resemblance to Thorton, whereas I liked him 'cause he instigated one of the best fights of the night and then continued to bellow at his enemy in the penalty box. Heh. My favorite, though, was Sanderson (#19) who's actually my age and incredibly quick, agile, and wily. When he was on the field you knew something good was going to happen. Aelf was partial to Ogelsby who seemed to have an inexhaustable supply of enthusiasm and became the team cheerleader. He'd run over to the glass and try to get everyone up on their feet after each goal, not that the crowd needed much help in that.

And oh what an ending, less than a second left and we score! The place went bug-fuck, and rightly so. Can't remember the last time I screamed quite that much at a game. Go Stealth!

Went home and passed out, then spent the wee hours of the morning being awakened by Pye at pretty regular intervals. Woke up around 9 when I heard the phone ringing and caught just enough of a message from [livejournal.com profile] xleste to go wake Aelf up so we could get ready for breakfast. Ended up going over to Cosentino's for baked goodness and juice and watched most of the ROTK special we'd taped the night before. [livejournal.com profile] xleste left for class and I got in a little nap time before taking off myself for the later choreography workshop.

I was a bit overwhelmed by the number of bodies in the class, but luckily managed to get myself into a group of at least somewhat similar dance-types so I didn't end up getting clobbered by any of the newbies. Aieee! I'm turning into a dance snob! But maybe it's not such a bad thing as I ended up unbruised today.

The class went very well, though two hours was a bit of a push. I will admit I spent some of the time thinking, "Yes, yes, I know this, but what's the timing and the footwork here?" Unfortunately both aspects got a little buried under the need to re-teach some basic moves. On the upside I went home last night and re-played all the moves in my head, start to finish, without any difficulty so maybe I retained more than I think.

Also stopped at Tower Records to see if maybe any of the ROTK calendars were available at that branch. Nope. See this is what I get for being all willpower-y before Xmas. *sigh* No calendar for me. But there was a Payless right there, so I stopped and had a slight shoe accident. But it did allow me to get one pair free (hooray!) and to go home and throw away several ratty old pairs of sneakers at long last. I'm wearing my new black loafers right now, and I think they look great. Finding affordable shoes entirely made from non-leather products that I like is always a nice thing.

Made an early night of it last night after a few more episodes of the Tick, but alas sleep was not forthcoming. I was awake until about 11:30, then again at 12:30, then Pye had one of his little neurotic fits at 3:30, then I was up at 6:45 and off to get ready for work. I really should be in much worse shape right now than I am, but I expect a few more days of this kind of sleep dep and I won't remember my own name.
