Night too shall be beautiful...
Jan. 6th, 2004 08:58 amGreat, now I've got "Use Well the Days" stuck in my brain again. However, one of the clever folks on this discussion posted an MP3 of the song which I would dearly love to have. If anyone with the technical knowledge and a working CD burner could grab it for me I'd be most appreciative. Even bigger kudos to anyone who can turn it into a format I can use in my car (where I intend to turn it up very loudly and sing at the top of my rather pathetic voice).
One quick announcement as well,
eilonwey and
xleste, I got the Sarah Brightman tickets, they're upper bowl and $35 each. Get in touch with me regarding getting them to you. If either of you intends to be at the choreography double veil workshop on Sunday I'll bring them along then, otherwise we can figure out something else.
And speaking of class, it was quite fun last night, though not as much of a workout as I was hoping for. Dear gods in heaven, Alyne wants us to do candle work again. I'd just forgotten the feeling of hot wax dribbling down on my head and bare skin and now I get to reexperience it all over again. Still it was funny that a new gal that showed up had been in Una's class previously and done the "Little Drummer Boy" routine too so we giggled over it with one another. She and I could already do the armwork that Alyne wants to use, though she did modify it slightly making it a wee bit more challenging. We also learned "Kali Arms" which are a little tougher than "Snake Arms".
We then tried to run through our new drum solo while playing zills. It was pretty slow (for the new gal, and we were all a bit rusty), but the zills made it just hard enough to keep it interesting. After class we all chatted for a bit and heard about Alyne's dad's abdominal surgery that day before she zoomed off to the hospital to see him. How she managed to keep it together enough to teach two classes while all that was going on is beyond me.
Really looking forward to the choreography workshop this weekend, I feel like I haven't used my veils nearly enough in the past few months and a new choreography might be enough to actually get me to pick them up more often. We'll see I guess.
