West of the Moon and East of the Sun
Dec. 15th, 2003 09:21 amOne more day til Trilogy Tuesday. Stress. Stress. Stress. I've run stuff like this in the past and I know that once I'm there and start delegating it'll be fine, but still, stress, stress, stress. Got very little sleep last night trying to think of everything I'm forgetting and figure out ways to handle the details of the contests. Talking it over with Aelf this morning helped a lot, and she's agreed to be my backup brain for this so hopefully everything'll be cool.
Very annoyed with myself for forgetting Elijah's appearance on SNL this weekend. I've seen some pics from it and he looks so adorable. Most of it apparently sucked (through no fault of his own), but there was a LOTR skit that was apparently pretty damn good. Gah. I'll just tell myself they'll rerun it.
Still can't make it through the ROTK soundtrack without bursting into tears. "Basketcase" doesn't even begin to describe what I'm going to be like tomorrow night after ROTK. And the emotional impact will be doubled for having seen the two previous movies just before it. On the plus side it'll be a great emotional release after all the stressing.
Got some crafting done this weekend, and some cleaning and even baking, which made me happy. The hafla Saturday night was absolutely the most enjoyable party I've been to in quite a while. It was small an intimate and everyone there was as nice and friendly as you could hope for. I finally got to actually talk to most of the beginners class folks I'd only ever seen in passing before that. And I got to wear my bedleh for the first time, which I think went pretty well. Nothing fell off or even threatened to for the most part, hurray! Paired it with my black sheer harem pants and my forest green skirt, and got to wear the green tie-top that
caredhel gave me a while back. Got lots of compliments so I was quite pleased.
However, it was Alyne who stole the show in this amazing peacock skirt. It had been made to look like individual peacock tail feathers held together at the sides with green beads. It was absolutely exquisite and really fired me up to make something similar. Imagining peacock bedleh with a peacock skirt...mmm...
It was just so much fun, and the food was amazing! But getting to just sit down and chat with folks, particularly Alyne, was the best part. The dancing was lovely, even when we messed up a little, and I personally messed up a lot but hadn't danced in over a week so I chalked it up to that. I'm sad to miss class tonight, but I just feel too overwhelmed by Trilogy Tuesday to face it. I'll go Thursday instead, when I can truly relax and enjoy myself.
Now to make it through the day...
