Well, I did it. I beat Golden Sun 2 last night, though it was a very close thing. I still had 3 of my 4 heavy-hitters and had called up a reservist in the final round. The hope was that I could just outlast the big boss, and glory be, I did.

Then, of course, there was the post-victory wrap up and the staging for the story in GS3. And when I get my hands on that skinny, blue-haired white boy, Alex, in the next one he's going to wish he'd never been born.

One disappointing element was the appearance of The Wise One, who actually seemed more like The Sadistic One. I mean he's a big gray floating eyeball and no one in my crew points out that in reality he's not much more than a Beholder with an attitude? Then they're all shocked when he fucks them over. Dude, he's a Beholder, that's what they do!

Anyway, big shout outs to my main man Felix, you really came through for me with your 300+ point attacks. Much love, man, much love. Jenna, your group healing spells rocked! You go girl! Piers, you may have looked like a wimp but you had some damn fine Djinni, thanks guy. And Sheba, despite the fact that you died a lot, your power points were a thing to be both admired and feared. And I've got just two words for you "Shine" and "Plasma".

Now I must resist the temptation to buy the first one at least until after the holidays. May start Final Fantasy Tactics, though, just to see if I can tolerate the gameplay. Have I mentioned how much I love my GameBoy yet today? No? My bad.

Also I was delighted to read Mark Morford's latest rant on "Secret Spells Barbie". If you haven't seen either it or the product in question go to:
Barbie The Hot Pagan Witch

Oh, Barbie. When, oh when, will you strip down and writhe in the woods and howl at the moon?

I've been wondering that myself for years. Though to be honest my Barbies did that and more when I was a kid. And oh the punishment that was inflicted on my hapless Kens. My mother just couldn't understand how my sister and I could utterly destroy our Ken dolls so fast. "What are you doing to them?" she'd ask, knowing full well she really didn't want to know.

Hey, was it our fault the Kens seemed irresistably drawn to the Forbidden Amazon Forest? They were warned, repeatedly, but they just couldn't stay away. Not even the bent and broken bodies of their predecessors was enough to deter them. I'm sorry, but they had it coming to them.

And my mother wonders why I'm perpetually single... *G*
