The kids are all right
Oct. 3rd, 2003 09:13 amBriefly, great game last night, I'm always happy to take a win and the newbies are playing pretty well. Though, unsurprisingly, Ricci's line was probably the strongest. Favorite moment of the evening, though, was when both I and Damphousse apparently figured out simultaneously that there was a big empty goal and he was right in front of it...with the puck. How I do enjoy a "gimme" goal.
Found out we're actually getting a pro (?) Lacrosse team out here called the Stealth. Yes, their logo is in fact a ninja, I'm sorry, but it just doesn't get any cooler than that. They start playing in the arena in January and I may just have to go check them out. I feel like it's kind of the sport of "my people" and I should give it a go. It's a fun, fast-paced game so why not? And it'll give J- and I something else to go see together when he comes to visit in future.
Crashed hard last night and woke up a half an hour late this morning. What fun. And Pye decided it was "be really, really obnoxious" day and discovered a new game. Once I'm dressed and am putting on makeup and doing my hair I leave the bathroom door open a little so he can get in and won't sit outside howling, "Mom! Mom! Mom!" Today he discovered that he could run at the door, knock it wide, yell "Hi mom!" and run away real fast. He did this about six times before I finished up, seemed to enjoy himself quite a bit.
Bit the bullet and bought myself an all regions DVD player on eBay this morning. really seems to enjoy his immensely, and I know I could put mine to good use as it also plays VCDs. To finally get to sit down and watch Hero will be an amazing thing. And to have access to all kinds of t.v. shows and movies on VCD that won't be out for ages on DVD is a lovely thought. And we're going to Chinatown tomorrow. I'm so doomed.
