But wait, there's more!

This, however, made me giggle:
What a relief, the PM's saved the human race
Many thanks to
odogoddess for that one.
Just got a desperate plea from one of my fellow volunteers at PAHS, she's caught a roundhead Siamese "snowshoe" (i.e. white paws) that desperately needs to be fostered or adopted. Apparently the shelter's currently full up and can't take him. I may have to respond later and offer to at least foster it for a bit. I'm concerned because I'm not sure how Kage would react to an adult male cat in the house, but he's supposedly quite mellow, a former housecat undoubtedly abandoned and living with some feral cats for a while now. On the other hand if the need is desperate and I could do it... And I've always, always wanted a Siamese... *sigh* Somebody talk me out of this before I respond to her.
I did manage to leave early yesterday and got a shitload done because of it. Pretty much everything got checked off my list, including some much needed dance time. Even got those nasty, fast growing shrub things that are invading from the neighbor's yard hacked back. Lots of grocery shopping, lots of cleaning, lots of laundry, and now I feel like the house is back in something approximating order, just in time for Aelf's return.
My plans for an early evening were thwarted by a local PBS station running a 3 hour show called The Spartans. I'm a Greek history buff and so, quite naturally, was doomed. I think I fell asleep for the last hour or so of it, and finally dragged myself to bed around midnight. It couldn't be helped, though, so I accepted my fate and actually managed to sleep pretty deeply, if not very much. Tonight I expect to be comatose the second my head hits the pillows.
That is, after getting back from dance class. With any luck we'll make both beginner's and intermediate tonight, I could certainly use the workout and the practice time.
