I've noticed that with the exceedingly hot dry weather also for me comes sinus hell. My allergies throw a little party with all the pollen and dust in the air and my head feels like I was a victim in a Scanners movie. Last night I lay in abject agony on the futon while we watched some SG, blowing my nose and drinking lots and lots of water. By about 9 an ep came on that I'd already seen and I got up to go take a cool shower. Glancing down at the tissue I'd been using I noted it was covered in blood. I felt like fourth season Scully. Hate nosebleeds. Anyway that seemed to be my cue to go to bed so that's precisely what I did. Today there is plenty of residual aching but I intend to eat ibuprofen until I beat it into submission.

No dance class for me this week, I am such a slacker.

Got a nice care package from home with all kinds of goodies including some pics from their trip out here that I hadn't seen before and a lovely new mix CD to listen to. Must play it for [livejournal.com profile] cyranocyrano when he gets back from his trip.

Aside from that life is rather quiet at the moment, which makes me nervous. I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop, so to speak. It's all calm-before-the-storm-y and I know the Fates too well to believe that they're just going to let me do the smooth sailing thing indefinitely. Hopefully it isn't some unforseen nonsense with the whole credit card debacle...which is actually not turning into that big a deal. Heard back from the police finally and was assured that if I wanted a police report I could get a "courtesy" one, but that nothing was going to be done about it so I probably shouldn't bother. Fine by me, I'm just hoping Citibank actually does have a decent fraud investigation department. Given how wretched the rest of their company seems to be I'm not holding my breath.

This one's for [livejournal.com profile] forkmonkey from one victim of crime to another to brighten your day:

Because it is so wrong and yet so right:
Tiny Ninja Theater

And the best review I've read of LXG yet can be found on the Master Ninja page:

The movie "League of Extraordinary Gentlemen" is an odd mix of quite good bits and quite bad bits, borne from a great idea and carried out very poorly. It's as if the combustion engine was made out of stone, Beethoven's 5th Symphony had been performed by a tone-deaf high-school band, or a Batman movie had been directed by Joel Schumacher. It has great potential, but it's ruined by poor execution.
