What a lovely, relaxing weekend. I haven't been so delightfully slothful in ages.

Friday night I did indeed get in some dancing and felt much the better for it. Not only was it exercise, but pouncing "Princess of Cairo" into my head (and body) made me feel much better about Saturday's performance. I then slacked utterly and re-read the old Invisibles series, or as much of it as I had on hand.

Saturday I ran some errands then power-slacked for the afternoon before getting ready for the hafla. Went very low-key costume-wise and felt a little underdressed when I saw some of my classmates. Still, I did manage to receive my coin hip-belt from eBay and it's an absolute delight to wear. The hafla provided Aelf and I with far too many vendors to purchase from, but oh the bargains! I restrained myself to two gorgeous wraps and a deep purple hip belt in burned velvet. I felt very virtuous.

The dancing was good, though I managed to screw up Choukraine hideously on the second run through. See somehow all the people who knew the routine ended up in one row and all those who didn't in the other. And then during the song we switch positions. I distinctly remember Angel looking at me hopelessly lost and all I could do was shrug. Alyne, bless her, tried calling out the moves, but nothing really helped 'til we got to go backwards again and hide behind them. Yeesh. Well at least we could all laugh about it. "Princess" came off smoothly, so I think I've got it, it's just a matter of fine tuning at this point. That's cool.

Got a couple of nice compliments and spent a good deal of time talking to this young woman who was just starting to take classes with Alyne. She was obsessed with Shakira, which, alas far too many people seem to be getting into dance for. Ah well. She was horrified when I admitted I'd never seen the singer's video so I hadn't a clue what she did in it.

We stayed until about 11:30, at which point I was freezing to death and begged to be taken home. Yeah, I know, what a wimp.

Sunday I went to the grocery store, mowed the lawn, watered out back, did a few household chores and then collapsed and didn't move again until dinnertime. Watched a mess of Kenshin episodes (I'm engrossed in the Kyoto storyline at the moment), then got to see the last hour of The Crow. I really need to own that movie, Amazon here I come. Cried like a baby at the end, but I always do. Then got some scanning done that I've been putting off for months and may just get to spend some time next weekend updating my badly neglected website. We shall see.

Found a lovely email from Alyne waiting for me this morning, with many compliments and a reminder about a free post-class class tonight. I'm hoping to go over our current duet and run some future ideas by her as well.
