Oh hell no!
Apr. 29th, 2003 08:54 amThat was clearly the message displayed by Kage's body language this morning as soon a she laid eyes on the little black cat who seems to think our backyard belongs to it. She wandered out into the backroom just as the cat was coming around the house onto the patio. Their eyes met and Kage's tail grew to about 3 times its regular size, her back fur raised and she launched herself a the glass door. The other cat took its cue to run like hell as she clawed the glass frantically trying to get out. Growling and pacing furiously by the doors, she didn't calm down for about 10 minutes.
Kage, Warrior Kitty.
By the time I left she was still staring out the doors, I'm betting she'll have found a way to lie down comfortable and keep an eye on the yard by the time I get home tonight too. She takes home security issues very seriously, does our Kage. I shudder to think what would've happened if the door had been open.
Anyway, in other news, class was wonderful last night, and very physically demanding. I know we all worked up a good sweat, and when Alyne's sister Malene noted that Aelf and I were sticking around for the second class as well she kind of grinned and laughed, "Ooh, you guys are brave." One hour is a nice workout, two, however, is a serious one. Got to help one of the newbies in class one who was a bit lost, particularly on veil work. It made me feel all knowledgeable and stuff. *G* Class two was good, we actually pulled together the entire Chokraine choreography and it looked cool. Alyne also mentioned that she was able to set up a special workshop with the one and only Dunia (quite possibly the most respected veil dancer in the US) in the near future. Dunia was one of Alyne's teachers and the choreography we're currently working on contains some of her moves. Alyne wants us to perform Chokraine for her, and while the thought is intimidating, it's also highly appealing.
But to learn from her and Alyne...oh man I am in serious dance heaven!
Went home and played a song called "Mouth Wedding" for Aelf with the thought of working up a non-veil choreography to it. She seems to like it too so we may have a plan formulating. There are just so many haflas coming up and I kind of want to dance in all of them. Insanely ambitious? Well yes, but why not aim high, even too high once in a while?
Managed to flop into bed a little after 10, go me! Physical exhaustion does wonders for my sleep. The tricky part is to not spend the entire night dreaming of dance choreographies }:)
