Warm hands, cold heart.
Apr. 7th, 2003 09:41 amGot sucked into watching "The Addams Family Reunion" on Saturday afternoon. It was a bit of a train wreck, but I'm such a Morticia and Gomez fan I couldn't help myself. And Tim Curry was playing Gomez, how could I resist. Oddly enough Daryl Hannah was cast as Tish. Best exchange:

"What heart?" purred by Gomez
Finally managed to finish listening to
cyranocyrano's mixes and "Sweet, Bitter" was my favorite, and now the mix of choice when I'm driving anywhere. He included the song "Human" by the Pretenders. It's one of my faves as it was also the theme song for one of my all time favorite t.v. series, Cupid. In case you weren't aware, I used to be one of the big-wigs in Cupid fandom online as you can see in my fanfic archive, it was the biggest devoted to the series.
Yeah I was a rabid fangirl, still am, and it's my fondest hope and dream that this show will be released on DVD soon. Why? Well some of the best writing ever to grace the t.v. screen for one. For another, the show made the concept of a guy who thinks he's the Roman god of love banished to earth work, I mean really work. It could've been a goofy waste of airtime, instead it was one of the best hours of television I've ever been lucky enough to see.
It even inspired me to write what I feel is my best piece of fanfic ever, Love Slave. I'm not much of a writer, never have been, but that one I'm deeply proud of. Must pull out the series and have a Cupid-a-thon in the not too distant future.
A very nice weekend, not a huge amount going on, but I got the things I needed to get done out of the way. Weed whacked the hell out of my yard then mowed the back again. No more jungles for me! Also dug up the space I wanted for my morning glories and composted it nicely. Made sure a healthy number of snails met their untimely demise as well, I will be investing in serious anti-snail weaponry tomorrow I think. The strawberry patch defenses will hold!
Spent Saturday evening at Menara enjoying gorgeous women dancing for us, and a meal fit for kings. Saw many costumes I covet, and got the old brain whirring on which songs I want to do and how I want to do them. Got to chat with several of the dancers, and am now almost as recognized as my irrepressable roommate, which makes me profoundly happy. Shira has also sworn that the troupe will be pulled together and start practices on Sunday afternoons. So long as it's after Alyne's class I'm down with that.
Sunday I slept in, partially due to damned Daylight Savings. Ah well, dragged myself out of bed at last and managed some laundry and household chores before running up to see
jakejr and watch "The Wire". Quite liked it, and I certainly wouldn't mind seeing more of it. Any show that can do an entire scene of at least two minutes using nothing but permutations of the word "fuck" is ok by me. According to Jake it's used at least 38 times, pretty damned impressive.
Got home later than intended and pretty much ended up reading for a bit, then off to bed. Morning came far too early today and caffeine is the only thing keeping me awake at the moment. I'll lose the monkey on my back next week, but for now I need it.
( I read the news today, oh boy... )
