Brief LOTR info dump:
Yay Onion! Nation's Love Affair with LOTR Threatening its Relationship with Star Wars:
Frustrated with the increasingly bloated, self-indulgent Star Wars universe, the nation shifted its affections toward the Peter Jackson films.
"Lord Of The Rings gave me things Star Wars never could," Janus said. "If it hadn't been for Peter Jackson showing me what a fantasy saga can be, I might have settled for [summer 2002's] Attack Of The Clones as the best I could ever hope for."

Heh.

Oh and tonight is apparently Sean Astin's episode of "Angel". I'm afraid I don't watch the series, but in case any of y'all are interested it's definitely one you'll want to tune in for.

I have to say I was a total slug yesterday, I indulged myself utterly, didn't even craft if you can believe that. I did stop at the grocery store and pick up the necessities of life, then dropped "The Black Pirate" back at the library. Got home and fixed a breakfast-for-dinner meal of scrambled eggs and latkes (quite yummy), set aside half in case [livejournal.com profile] aelfsciene was ravenous when she got home, then did all the dishes and took out the trash. After our cleaning extravaganza on Sunday there was precious little else to be done so I spent some time reading some very good fanfic. How relaxing is that?

Afterwards I decided my altar needed an overhaul. I hadn't done anything for Imbolc so at least a new look was in order. For now it's rather goddess-heavy, with all my favorite Artemis images, including a relief that [livejournal.com profile] windrose made for me. Then I'd saved the rose petals from the flowers I received for my birthday last year. They were all nicely dried and smelled lovely, so I put a flat little basket in the center and filled it with them and some dried herbs from my garden. It's definitely feminine-intensive, but that's what spoke to me last night so that's what I did.

Perhaps a small ceremony tonight to make it official is in order.

I've also got a fierce urge to cook/bake. This often happens when I start spending a good deal of time at home, that combined with the kickass cookbook I received from my family over the holidays, and the urge may be impossible to resist. It doesn't hurt that now that I'm exercising again I can actually eat a good deal more and still keep the weight off. Indeed I find that I need to eat more in order to maintain my weight and convert the flab into muscle. I'm keeping an even more strict eye on my protein intake these days and it's paying off in spades.

For the first time since puberty I'm actually content with my body, for more than one or two days at a time. Now I wouldn't mind looking a bit more muscular, but that's going to happen if I keep dancing, regardless. I can already see it in my arms and legs, not big bulging muscles or anything, nor am I "cut", just toned and a bit sleeker. And the numbers on the scale haven't budged at all. Now that's what I've been talking about!

In the end it all comes down to lifestyle, watching what you eat, portion control, and exercise (a minimum of 4-5 hours per week seems to work best for me). Without changing your lifestyle you can't permanently change your body, it just won't work. I get that now, no more crash diets for me.

Enough preaching I think. Tonight I slack some more, and perhaps watch the game (if it's televised) and draw a little. We'll see. Ah what an exciting life I lead... }:)
